The Team

The Beaconsfield Ministry Team

The Reverend Dr Jeremy Brooks (Team Rector)

Jeremy has been team rector since 2010, when he moved here from his previous parish in Hertfordshire, with his wife, Dorothy and two children, Ethan and Dana. He is based at St Mary’s.  In 2012, he completed a doctorate which focused on the funeral ministry of the Church of England and is committed to the importance of life events in the ministry and outreach of the church.  He is also part of the Archbishops’ Council Advisory Group on Life events, and serves on a number of national bodies for church and government on funerals. He is the author of a number of books including Heaven’s Morning Breaks (2012, Kevin Mayhew).  Dorothy is ordained and is the chaplain at Great Ormand Street.

The Reverend Michael Johnson (Team Vicar at St Thomas's)

Team Vicar, St Michael's Beaconsfield

Post currently vacant. For more information, contact the churchwardens.

The Reverend Sharon Roberts (Associate Priest)

Sharon was ordained in 2011 and lives in Amersham with her husband Nigel. Initially with St Mary's on a six month attachment from St Michael and All Angels, Amersham on the Hill, she transferred her Licence to the Beaconsfield Team Ministry early in 2018, spending most of that year at St Thomas' while they were in vacancy.  She has now returned to ministering at St Mary's.

Michelle Fotherby (Families Worker)

Mrs Hazel Chow (Licensed Lay Minister St Michael's)

Hazel is Licensed Lay Minister to the Beaconsfield Team and works mainly within St. Michael & All Angels Church.  The role involves pastoral care, the taking of funerals and preaching. As a Churches Together appointment, she is also the Workplace Chaplain for those working in the shops and businesses and the Town Council.

We are also fortunate to enjoy the ministries of three other clergy who have ‘Permission to Officiate’ – the Revd Dorothy Moore Brooks, who is one of the chaplains at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children; the Revd Cathy Smith and the Revd Carolynn Croisdale-Appleby, both of whom are officially retired, but keep very busy for us! Beaconsfield team Ministry is also enabled by a team of many other supporters and volunteers.
